IMAGINAL CITIES

About Imaginal Cities

Imaginal Cities are shared worlds of image, meaning and possibility, co-created around the qualities we most need.

Each city is entered through guided imagery and shaped by what participants see, sense and bring into the shared experience.

Wisdom

Hope

Compassion

Kindness

Courage

Each City is entered through guided imagery and shaped by what participants see, sense and bring in the moment.

THIS IS IMPORTANT

Why Cities?

A quality becomes more powerful when it becomes a place.

A city allows us to explore a quality as something alive.

It can have gates, gardens, shelters, meeting places, boundaries, dangers and ways of living.

Hope is no longer only an idea.

It becomes somewhere we can enter, encounter and begin to understand differently.

A CITY LET’S US EXPLORE

Where a quality lives

What protects it

What it

What it asks of us

What we carry back

No two Cities are ever the same.

The host opens the journey, but the city is not predetermined.

It takes shape through what participants notice, imagine and bring into the shared experience.

One gathering may reveal gardens, thresholds and places of refuge. Another may reveal entirely different forms, relationships and ways of living.

The city emerges from the people who enter it.

NOW A CITY IS CREATED

Imaginal Cities are not places we escape to.

CLOSING INVITATION

They are places we return from carrying something new.

Rooted in the imaginal philosophy of Henry Corbin — worlds between what exists and what is waiting to become possible. For the thoughtful, the creative, the hopeful.
